Pro med instruments (PMI) was established in 1993 in Freiburg, Germany. The initial activities of the company included the distribution of medical instruments and devices.
Based on market demand and unmet cranial stabilization needs, pro med instruments decided to develop a new, innovative product line of cranial headrest and retractor systems. The DORO 174; system was then launched in November 1998 as an innovative, future-oriented product line – based on patient and neurosurgeons needs.
The company has experienced rapid growth and worldwide market acceptance of the DORO products which has led to the company's expansion and relocation to its new facility and corporate headquarters in Freiburg, Germany in June 2002.
A Quality Management System was been implemented throughout the company covering all relevant standards. The company and the products are approved according to FDA Standards and DIN ISO Standards . Beyond that, additional country-specific registrations exist for various markets.
In January 2003, pro med instruments began sales and marketing activities in the US with its own subsidiary, pro med instruments Inc., based in Alva, FL, and is supported by a National distribution network.
Our product line is constantly expanding with new ideas and solutions to benefit the patient which have been developed in conjunction with leading worldwide neurosurgeons. Clinical performance and product quality remains the foundation of pro med instruments and pro med instruments is proud to now offer a product line that consists of more than 200 DORO products.
In addition to our sales office in the US, worldwide we have more than 40 distributors in our International Sales and Marketing network providing innovative product solutions and excellent customer service.
