The Gyrus ACMI Invisio® Digital Flexible Cystonephroscope, ICN, combines the superior clarity of pure digital imaging that differentiates the Invisio visualization platform, with the convenience of “plug & play” endoscopy. The ICN’s distal tip CMOS imaging sensor and integrated LED illumination eliminate the camera head, light source and cable as well as focusing and white balancing issues. The increased flexibility and lower total cost of ownership make the ICN a convenient, affordable choice for office, clinic and operating room cystoscopy and percutaneous nephroscopy.

The Invisio® Smith Digital Nephroscope is much lighter than the traditional fiber optic percutaneous nephroscopes at 470 grams versus as much as 935 grams. During a long procedure, the lighter weight design makes a considerable difference in surgeon fatigue in comparison with standard endoscopes. The ergonomic handle facilitates handling with the non-dominant hand while using the dominant hand for instrument manipulation.

The new Percutaneous Nephroscope is well suited to meet the demands of the modern patient profile. At the heart of this scope is a new distortion-free, hybrid lens technology that significantly improves contrast and resolution, resulting in a bigger and brighter image than our previous model. The working length has been extended to enable it to access all areas of the kidney including the renal pelvis. Lastly, the sheaths have been modified to improve flow significantly over the previous generation resulting in better visualization and fewer stoppages due to blood clotting.
