In infrared contact coagulation the tissue is coagulated not by means of an electric current but with infrared radiation. In treatment mechanical pressure and radiation energy are applied simultaneously. The process of electrocoagulation used to date is based on the heat of resistance (joule heat) produced when high-frequency currents flow through body tissue. This requires two electrodes – one inactive, with a large surface area and usually applied to a region on the upper leg, and one small, active, operating electrode. A basic shortcoming of this method is the adhesion of the metal electrod

These suction coagulator electrodes and accessories work to simultaneously remove blood, mucous, smoke, and gas, and to coagulate the area. The handles accept all the suction coagulation electrodes, as well as the electrode extensions. The fitting for the suction tubing connection is on the rear of the handles, providing straight through suction, designed to eliminate clogging, and facilitate cleaning. The suction control valve is conveniently located on the side of each handle; suction is obtained by covering this valve with a finger. A washer is provided with each suction electrode and exten

(Valleylab) Use these suction coagulators for procedures requiring controlled fluid evacuation along with precise electrosurgical coagulation. Suction and coagulation can be performed independently or simultaneously. Suction is controlled using a vent on the handle, which is ergonomically designed to provide a sure grip when wet and to help improve tactile sensitivity. Choose either foot-switching or hand-switching activation.
